As part of the Light the World initiative, members of the Matola Mozambique Stake of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints united in service to improve the learning environment at Liberdade Primary School.
On 7 December 2025, members of the stake, together with local community volunteers, carried out a school painting and repair project. The effort included painting classrooms, repairing broken windows, and fixing damaged desks to create a safer, brighter, and more welcoming space for students and teachers.
Stake leaders expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve and emphasized that the project aimed not only to improve physical conditions but also to uplift the hearts of those involved. “This service reminded us that when we serve others, we serve God,” said one leader. “We wanted the children to feel loved and valued, and to know that their education matters.”
The project strengthened ties between the Church and the local community while reflecting the true spirit of Christmas. By following the Savior’s example of love and compassion, members of the Matola Stake shared His light in meaningful and lasting ways.
